Jean-Claude Gérard, Adriana Ferreira and Amedeo Salvato Concert

Jean-Claude Gérard, a well-known flutist, studied flute at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris with Marcel Moyse.
He won several international competitions and began his career in Paris, playing with the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux and at the Opéra National de Paris. He moved to Germany in 1972. After his engagement as a solo flutist with the Philharmonic State Orchestra in Hamburg, he was a professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover from 1986 to 1989. Since 1989 he has been professor at the University of Music and performing Arts in Stuttgart. Apart from his pedagogic commitments, numerous concerts, recordings, Jean-Claude Gérard is a member of the Deutsche Bläsersolisten, the Ensemble Villa Musica and the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart under the direction of Helmuth Rilling.


Adriana Ferreira | Co-Principal Flute of the National Orchestra of France since 2012, Adriana Ferreira was recently appointed Principal Flute at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra in the Netherlands.
In 2010, when she was barely nineteen years old, Adriana won the First Prize, Orchestra Prize and Young Jury’s Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Competition in Denmark. In 2013, she was awarded 3rd Prize at the Kobe International Competition in Japan, before obtaining First Prize and Darmstadt Prize of the Severino Gazzelloni Competition in Italy in 2014. Finally, she won the Geneva International Competition (joint 2nd Prize, the First Prize was not attributed), where she was also honoured by the Coup de Cœur Breguet Special Prize.
Performing in numerous festivals (Barcelona, Giverny, Caravane Musicale de Monte-Carlo, Manchester, Copenhagen, Kuhmo, Charlotte…), she played as a soloist with the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Odense Orchestra, Geneva and Kremlin (Moscow) chamber orchestras. She has worked with several composers and has first performed, among others, Joaquim Santos’ Flute Concerto.
As a duet with pianist Isolda Crespi, she published in 2011 the CD Danse des Sylphes with Numerica in Portugal, followed in 2015 by a CD for the Falaut collection in Italy. Recently, she released a CD as a soloist with the Geneva Chamber Orchestra and pianist Lorenzo Soulès, for the swiss label Claves.
Born in Portugal in 1990, she studied the flute at the Artave Music School (2002-2008) with Joaquina Mota. Laureate of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, she joined the class of Sophie Cherrier at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (2008-2015), where she has obtained her diplomas (Bachelor, Master, 3rd cycle supérieur). She also studied with Benoît Fromanger at the Berlin Hochschüle Hanns Eisler and holds a Musicology Degree from the Paris-Sorbonne University.

Solist, chamber musician, supporting pianist, he performed in many important theaters in Italy (Teatro
San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro Comunale and Teatro Manzoni di Bologna, Auditorium del Teatro Carlo
Felice di Genova, Teatro Olimpico di Roma, Teatro Politeama di Palermo, Sala Verdi del
Conservatorio di Milano, Villa Rufolo di Ravello, Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza) and abroad (Wiener Saal
di Salisburgo, Teatro dell'Opera Clermont-Ferrand, I.C.I. in London, Teatro dell'Opera di Tirana,
Oji Hall di Tokyo, Accademia della Musica "Gnessin" di Mosca, Sala Fedora Aleman di Caracas,
Sala Verdi di Budapest). He is the official suporting musician in all the events of Falaut. He recorded for Falaut Collection, RaiTrade and Urania.
