Gaia Sokoli was born on 16 May 1998. At the age of 8 she started playing the piano with Prof. Claudia Boz and she graduated with full marks at 16. After that she studied with M° Leonid Margarius at the“Incontri col Maestro” Imola Piano Academy and now she is continuing her studies with M° Roberto Prosseda and M° Alessandra Ammara. She has won the 1st prize in 50 national and international competitions, showing her great talent from an early age.
Apart from these achievements she has won the entire “Giovani Concertisti – Carlo Mosso” Competition, the 1st prize at the III Concours International “Nice – Cote d’Azur”, the “Bach” special prize at the “Città di Sestri Levante” Competition and the section prizes at the V “Città di Asti” International Competition, XVI “Città di Giussano” Competition and XXV “Giovani Talenti” Competition.
She has won the 2nd prize at the “M. Bramanti” Competition, the 2nd prize at the “Il Pozzolino” International Piano Competition and she has obtained the 1st prize at the “Simone Delbert-Février” Competition for piano and orchestra in France. In 2013 she received the Annamaria Molteni Canepa scholarship at the “Città di Cantù” International Competition for Piano and Orchestra and in 2015 she was one of the 10 candidates selected to take part in the semifinal round at the I Krainev International Piano Competition, playing at the International House of Music in Moscow. She has passed into the final round at the Midwest International Piano Competition in Cedar Falls (USA) and she is the 1st prize winner of the Piano section at the TIM - Torneo Internazionale di Musica in Turin.
She has performed with the Symphony Orchestra of Cannes, Provence and Cote d’Azur, the “M. Jora” Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau and the “E. Pozzoli” Philharmonic Orchestra of Seregno, and she has been invited to play for the 53rd edition of “Zecchino d’Oro” at the Antoniano Theatre in Bologna, broadcasted in Eurovision. She regularly performs in Italy (Festival Ghislandi in Crema, Amici della Musica di Pistoia, Associazione Mozart Italia in Rovereto, Associazione “G. Padovano” in Mola di Bari, Associazione Carducci in Como, Milano PianoCity, ecc.) and abroad for International festivals in France (“Concerts de Jeunes Talents” in Nice), Switzerland (7th “New Year Music Festival” in Gstaad), Romania (Sala Ateneu of Bacau), Albania (2nd “Pianodrom Festival” of Tirana) and USA, making her Carnegie Hall debut in New York at 13 as a winner of the 1st prize at the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition.
