After the concert, Mario Notaristefano will give a short master class to some flute students, open to the public.
Mario Notaristefano
Studied with Michele Marasco and then with Andrea Oliva at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. An important milestone in his artistic development was his encounter with Mario Caroli, who had a profound musical influence on him and with whom he studied at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana (Swiss), as well as at the Musikhochschule Freiburg (Germany). During his studies he attended masterclasses with renowned flutists such as Patrick Gallois, Barthold Kuijken, Davide Formisano, Annamaria Morini.
Member of the Ensemble Aventure, he has performed with numerous orchestras and ensembles including SWR Südwestrundfunks Symphonieorchester, Frankfurt Opern, Philharmonisches Orchester Freiburg, Basel Sinfonietta, Stuttagarter Symphoniker, Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Teatro Comunale di Modena.
As a part of his constant endeavor to deepen his musical research and interpretation, Mario published the essay Luciano Berio tra poetiche del caso e postavanguardia, Studi di Estetica (Clueb, 44, 2012) for the University Alma Mater Studiorium of Bologna and Luciano Berio – Sequenza I , De Musica (17, 2013) for the University of Milan .
Since 2018 Mario is teaching flute at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg (Germany).
Katharina Kegler
Katharina Kegler has studied with Tibor Hazay in Freiburg im Breisgau and with John Perry in Houston (USA). Has received important musical impulse from Gilbert Kalish and Dadid Takeno during a 6-months scolarship at the prestigious Bangg Centre for the Arts in Canada.
As a soloist, chamber musician, and with her liederistic activity, she collaborated with renowned artists such as Martin Spangenberg, Mario Caroli, Dashon Burton and Petra Müllejans. She dedicated herself to the American contemporary litterature, together with the trumpet player and composer Antony Plog, and collaborated with the trombonist Branimir Slokar in masterclasses and concerts.
Tournées and masterclasses has taken her in many European countries, in Middle East, China, Canada, Japan, and Brazil. Katharina Kegler collaborates with many orchestras, such as the SWR Sinfonieorchester, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and made many radio and TV recordings with France Musique, DRS (Svizzera) and RTV Slovenia, recorded CDs with Ars Musici, Summit Records, Chrismon und Hänssler. In her artistic repertoire there are also the concerts-conferences, such as those about the painter Paul Klee and the Croatian composer Dora Pejačević.
In 2012 she founded the series of concerts Musikfest Ebringen (she is also the artistic and organizative director).
Since 1992 she works as accompanist at the Musikhochschule of Freiburg.
